For more than eighteen years Stephen Cole has fronted the worlds leading and most respected news channels including Sky News and CNN, eventually joining BBC World in 1996. He is now the senior anchor at Al Jazeera English based in London.
In this Coventry Conversation he discusses the work of the Al Jazeera channel - which is often criticised by politicians for the stance it takes on contemporary debates.

Ewa Jasiewicz is a writer, journalist and activist who takes a radical approach to her work.
She was in Baghdad during the US/British occupation of Iraq (including a group protest inside the press conference of the Supreme Commander of the US Occupation Forces General Sanchez where she got physically ejected) and was reporting from inside Gaza during the 2008 siege by Israel. She is currently involved in the Free Gaza floatilla taking sail this spring and is featured in the recent film ‘To Shoot an Elephant’ by Alberto Arce and Mohammad Rujailah. Ewa is also co-editor of Le Monde Diplomatique Polish Edition.
In this talk Ewa discusses a different point of view from the embedded and self-censored reporting that Sky and the BBC are so fond off.
