David Hayward - So, Just What Do We Mean By Local? (9 of 9)

So, Just What Do We Mean By Local? (9 of 9)

Local TV? Local papers? Local websites? The media are going down to street level thanks to the rise of social media and cheap technology. But what exactly do we mean by local? How local is it-a street, village, town? How are they reached and served? Is there really any local interest in local news? Just what do we mean by local?

David was the Head Of The BBC Local TV Experiment. He also has experience of running the BBC College of Journalism’s programme of events. He began his career at BBC Radio Leicester, and has since worked across the BBC in network radio, regional TV and the World Service Trust in Eastern Europe.
