Deleuze’s Postscript on the Societies of Control - Liquid Theory TV - Episode 2

The second episode in the Liquid Theory TV series takes as its focus Gilles Deleuze's short essay 'Postscript on the Societies of Control' and asks why this text remains so relevant in contemporary culture.

Liquid Theory TV is an experiment looking into alternative ways of disseminating academic ideas and research in the digital age. It is a collaboration between Dr Clare Birchall (University of Kent), Professor Gary Hall (Coventry University) and Peter Woodbridge (Coventry University). This episode first featured in the culture and theory journal 'Culture Machine' in January 2010.

The Future of Multimedia Journalism at the BBC - Pete Clifton

Pete Clifton is the head of BBC News Interactive and the BBC’s head of editorial development for multimedia journalism. He has been in charge of BBC News Interactive since 18 October 2005 - first as Chief Operating Officer then as controller.

The News Interactive department includes BBC News Online, the BBC News website, CBBC Newsround, the Ceefax teletext service, the digital text service, On This Day, BBC’s Interactive TV, the Action Network and a variety of news services to mobile phones and other mobile devices.

Here he discusses the future of multimedia journalism at the BBC.

Editing the Coventry Telegraph - Darren Parkin

Darren moved to the Midlands in 1993 as Chief Reporter on the Solihull Times and later Birmingham Metro News, winning the UK Press Gazette Young Journalist of the Year three years in succession.

He became the country’s youngest newspaper editor at the age of 24, editing the News of Wolverhampton. He was appointed editor of the Coventry Telegraph in November 2009.

Paying for the News? - Alan Rusbridger, Guardian Editor

Alan has been editor of The Guardian since 1995. Previously he was a reporter, columnist, features editor and the deputy editor of The Guardian. He is a member of the board of Guardian News and Media, of the main board of the Guardian Media Group and of the Scott Trust, which owns The Guardian.
